Roulette: The Wheel Begins to Turn . . .

Hello cyber-surfers, and welcome to the genesis of a new project from a few of the fellas at A Few Lines Magazine! If you are familiar with the magazine, you will know that most of our time is spent in the pursuit of promoting and proliferating art from little known artists on the rise. If you aren't familiar with the magazine, open up a new tab and peck out www.afewlinesmagazine.com and begin enjoying the literary splendor that only that magazine can provide. Okay, that's enough shameless plugging of the magazine, lets get down to business.

I've created this blog in order to chronicle the steps taken to create a comic strip which will, with any luck, find its way into the L.A. Times or any other publication that will find its way into the homes of viewers like you. Now, like I said, this is a new endeavor, and is a bit foreign for a bunch of guys used to fretting over meter and scansion to be suddenly concerned with frame composition and art consultations. Nevertheless, I feel like this blog should serve the purpose of two things: 1. To keep all of you up to date with the goings on of the comic strip, including preliminary sketches, story details, and industry progress, and 2. to provide an open forum in which comic writers and illustrators may feel free to exchange tips, encouragement, and the all important CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! So, feel free to comment to your heart's content.

Next time we will be discussing some of the ways the fellas and I get story arcs rolling, and the ever important element of preliminary illustrations.

'Till next time,

Eric
